Safety Ministry Training
In a Nutshell...
A Brief History
- It all starts with an innate drive to protect those that are hurting and suffering under the oppression of predators. Kris joined the Army and ultimately became a Police Officer because of his concern for others.
- After graduating from Northwestern College with a Bachelors Degree in Ministry and a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership, Kris was desperately seeking God's will for his life.
- His Lead Pastor asked Kris for help because money was being stolen from the various safes around the church. Kris made recommendations for better safes and established protocols for handling money. Kris did not hear God's quiet whispers.
- Sometime later, the church's leadership approached Kris a second time. They needed him to train childcare workers. Kris developed policies and conducted the training. And still, Kris did not hear God's call.
- A third time, the church's leadership asked Kris to form a Safety Team and Kris finally understood his purpose. The first thing he realized was that his team was untrained, so he developed an eight hour academy.
- Word got out that Kris had formed a Safety Team and several churches in the area reached out to him for help. In the subsequent years, he was able to help a handful of churches to start a Safety Ministry.
- In 2014, a respected mentor told Kris to start a business. At first Kris refused, but this mentor explained revenue would provide the necessary resources to improve the training and reach more people.
- Of course, the mentor was right. Since then, the Training Materials have improved immensely. Over 6,000 students, representing 100s of churches, have been trained to safeguard their congregations.
